ECCIR Participates in European Research Day 2023

On November 16, ECCIR had the pleasure of participating in European Research Day 2023 hosted by EURAXESS North America and University of Ottawa!

European Research Day (ERD) is an annual flagship event of EURAXESS North America to promote Europe as a hub for research and innovation.

• The day was filled with insightful discussions on Canada-EU research collaboration and funding opportunities, including:
• Keynote talks by Dr. Mary Kavanagh of the European Commission’s EU Science, Research and Innovation and Stéphane Lessard of Global Affairs Canada | Affaires mondiales Canada, emphasizing the strength of bilateral research cooperation!
• Dr. Derya Büyüktanır Karacan and Jackson Howard’s presentation on EURAXESS services and Pillar I of Horizon Europe.
• An expert panel comprised of Gina Soparlo of Mitacs, Britta Baron of ECCIR, Dr. Milad Asgarpour Khansary of Marie Curie Alumni Association North America Chapter (and an #MSCA alumnus), and Dr. Kavanagh of DG RTD.
• Closing remarks by Ambassador of Ireland to Canada, Eamonn McKee.
