ERASMUS FOR YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS (EYE)
Bring Global Talent to Your Business

WHAT IS THE ERASMUS FOR YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS PROGRAM?

EYE is a cross-border exchange program that gives new or aspiring European entrepreneurs the chance to learn from experienced entrepreneurs in participating countries. The exchange is designed to strengthen entrepreneurial skills, encourage knowledge sharing and support long-term business collaboration. Canadian hosts benefit by gaining access to fresh perspectives, insights into international markets, and added visibility/credibility through the official Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs labels and certification. Throughout the process, professional intermediary organizations help match you with the right entrepreneur to ensure a smooth collaboration.

WHO CAN APPLY AS A HOST ENTREPRENEUR?

As a host entrepreneur you can participate in the programme if:

  • You are a permanent resident and your company is registered in Canada.

  • You are the owner/manager of a small or medium enterprise OR a person directly involved in entrepreneurship at SME board level (not employee).

  • You have been running a company as an entrepreneur (not employee) for more than 3 years.

  • You are willing to share your knowledge and experience with a new entrepreneur and act as a mentor.

BENEFITS FOR HOST ENTREPRENEURS

As a host entrepreneur participating in the programme, you will benefit from the exchange by having the opportunity to:

  • Benefit from a “fresh eye” on your business, and specialised knowledge that the new entrepreneur may have and that you do not master.

  • Learn about foreign markets, expand your business opportunities and engage in cross-border activities.

  • Network and build strong relationships, which can be useful for mutual consulting, business referrals, and for finding business partners abroad.

  • Improve the growth potential of the company by establishing a business partnership with a new entrepreneur from another European country.

  • Option to use of the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs labels and certificate attesting your participation in the program.

  • Increase the visibility and prestige of your business (e.g. via interviews with the media).
